There’s Something Magical at The Monastery
This February The Village Screen pop up cinema will be setting up shop inside one of Manchester’s most historical and spectacular locations – Gorton Monastery – for a spot of Anti-Valentine’s fun. Audiences will step inside the stunning Grade II listed building, surrounded by beautiful stained glass windows and magical candle light, to uncover nostalgic films in a stunning setting.
If you’re single or coupled up and fancy doing something a bit different for Valentine’s, why not ditch your usual dinner plans and enjoy a screening of Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet, an afternoon Sister Act screening or hang out with Hugh for the evening with Four Weddings and a Funeral (see full dates & times listed below).
The Village Screen’s DJ will be spinning Valentine’s classics before each event and there will be street food to fall in love with by Shoot The Bull and the ‘People’s Choice’ winners at The British Street Food Awards 2017, Dim Sum Su. The Monastery’s bar will be open serving local beers, wines, Prosecco and soft drinks plus The Monastery’s Victorian Pantry will be on hand with the hot drinks and cakes.
